Materials with Memory

We believe in materials with memory—substances that carry the quiet wisdom of their past and express it in every grain, weave and texture. From reclaimed timber to naturally tanned leathers and organic fabrics, our materials are chosen not just for their quality but for their story. These are materials that evolve with time, bearing the marks of everyday life and becoming more beautiful with age. By honouring the journey of each element we work with, we create furniture that is not only timeless but also deeply connected to the natural world and the lives it touches.

Wood: A Living Surface

Natural wood sits at the heart of many Rinocca pieces. We choose it not for perfection, but for personality – the quiet knots, the organic grain, the depth of tone that deepens over time.

Our walnut and oak are hand-finished to retain their natural texture. They welcome touch. They respond to light. They gather signs of life – the warmth of a cup, the brush of a sleeve, the rhythm of daily use. They don’t wear out. They wear in.

Fabric: Softness with Soul

Our fabrics are natural, tactile and intentionally unpolished. Think washed linen. Wool blends. Textiles with texture.

They start out grounded and tactile and grow even more beautiful with age. Creases form, colours mellow, softness builds. These are the kinds of surfaces you want to curl into. They invite a pause.

We pair them with muted, earthy tones – the kind that belong in every room, but never shout.

Metal: Strength in Stillness

Rinocca’s use of metal is subtle but essential. It brings structure. Stability. A sense of quiet confidence.

We favour blackened or brushed steel – raw finishes that gather light and shadow. As they age, they develop their own quiet patina. Not flaws, but fingerprints of time.

Metal is the anchor in many of our pieces. Understated, but grounding.

Design for the Long Now

At Rinocca, we believe good design begins with honesty. And nothing is more honest than natural materials – with all their imperfections, movement and depth. We don’t cover them up. We highlight them. Because when you choose a piece from Rinocca, you’re not just furnishing your home, you’re adding something that will live with you, change with you and grow more meaningful every year.

We just try to sustain the meaningful in life as much as possible. When people choose us, it means they become aware of their emotions. Which nowadays becomes more and more distant.
